EXERCISE SCIENCE PATH / MUSCLE GROWTH
MECHANISM
IS NOT PROOF.
Muscle growth involves mechanical signaling, protein turnover, translational capacity, cellular remodeling and individual response. Those mechanisms help explain adaptation, but acute molecular or physiological signals should not be treated as direct substitutes for measured changes in muscle size.
FOLLOW THE ADAPTATION.
Start with how loading becomes a signal, then move into protein turnover and the cellular machinery that supports longer-term remodeling.
READ THE SIGNAL CAREFULLY.
These guides examine common mechanisms and acute observations that are interesting, but easy to oversell when the actual question is long-term muscle growth.
A pathway, biomarker or acute response becomes practically important only when it improves how we interpret training evidence or make a real programming decision.
